PTA TEST
Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA) is a hearing test performed on the ears by measuring the smallest amplitude of sound waves in the absolute-tone test. This test can be performed with a microphone or without. It is the most accurate way to determine when the correct amount of hearing aids will be suitable for an individual. IHC perform PTA test at affordable rates in Pakistan.
Tympanometry
Tympanometry is a clinical test measuring the tympanic layer, the soft tissue surrounding the eardrum. Tympanometry is the standard screening test used by audiologists to assess whether there is any hearing loss. Tympanometry is a test that measures the level of sound heard by the ears, specifically by measuring the loudness of sounds.
ASSR TEST
The ASSR is a hearing test that measures the patient’s ability to maintain sound in quiet, steady tones. The sound is played through a speaker so that the patient can hear it clearly, and then their responses are recorded. Children who are too young for conventional audiometric testing can evaluate their hearing using the objective test known as Auditory Steady State Response (ASSR).
BERA TEST
The BERA is an audiometric screening test that screens for hearing loss in newborns and infants. It is described as a “sample of the most important auditory system response”. The testing consists of an electrical stimulus applied to the cranial nerve VII nerve, which reaches the cochlea through the internal acoustic meatus (the bony opening where sound enters the middle ear).
Tinnitus
Tinnitus is a ringing or buzzing noise in the ears. Tinnitus evaluation helps consultant diagnose the source of hearing sounds that come from inside your body, rather than from an outside source. If you are hearing continuous noises in your ears, visit your nearest audiology consultant and get your Tinnitus evaluation done.
